Can't download Calibre
firewall and antivirus are disabled -

other devices on the network work well

have downloaded MX and BS successfully -

only Calibre is giving me the problem

Error message reads:
An error has occurred - Get more Help - Change settings

Does Calibre need different settings? MX and BS didn't.

What are MX and BS and why should we care?

You can download calibre like any other Windows, Linux or OSX program. Either download calibre from here or here.

That's what I suspected, but calibre is not an android app so your post was confusing. Downloading calibre has nothing to do with android.

On Android you can use the Calibre content server to download books to your device one at a time via most any browser. Or you can get books to your device using the Calibre companion android App.

If you can't access the content server you have to be more specific about what problem you are having. Some android browsers have problems with the password authentication calibre uses, so turning off the password in the calibre content server might help.

Also; the application calibre while it DOES interface with the calibre content server is NOT the same as calibre itself, nor the same as the Calibre Companion
