The first story said hackers claim to have 12 million iPod, iPad, and iPhone records, today! If you are among them wouldn't you be concerned or like to know? BTW, this isn't just negativity, my son has an iPod! Besides telephone numbers and addresses what other sensitive data do these hackers have?

Again, the FBI denied they were the source of the leak. What's hilarious is that people still buy into anything the government denies. The U.S. Government Denies Just About Everything ... Agent Orange. BTW, the hackers responded with their own tweet on the FBI's feed that said "Wait, what? So because you don't know of any data breach it never happened? They also said said it publicized the IDs in order to draw attention to the fact that the FBI was compiling such information, and to get people to start asking why the law enforcement agency might be collecting the data, and what they could be doing with it. |

What does this have to do with security through obscurity?

i think he meant that before, apple was touting that their products were "virus-free", when in fact, it only meant that the OS wasn't popular enough (yet) for hackers to target. at least, that's how i understand it.
