K5 Need help on music streaming

I can't stream music with my Kindle Touch. I am not talking about streaming with Flash. I know it's not possible right now. But is there a hack, that makes streaming music from html5 websites possible? for example; streaming from http://html5.grooveshark.com

It works on iPhone, but not on Kindle Touch. Any help will be appreciated...

Now is what works on an iPhone significant about things that work on a Kindle Touch?

The Kindle Touch can't place telephone calls (other than VoIP) and an iPhone can. Is that a failure of the iPhone or the K5?

Well, the Kindle Touch at least brings the needed hardware :-) But then, the browser would have to implement handlers for HTML5 audiovisual media -- which I very much doubt it ever will.

OTOH, running mplayer or some CLI audio player from a wrapper application or a terminal should work just fine.

I didn't mean to compare these devices. I mentioned iphone because it has a browser similar to Kindle Touch's. I tought, the fact that i can stream from iphone means i can stream from kindle touch too. but somehow i can't.

I don't think the browsers are really similar - they have common roots w/ regard to their rendering engine, but the rendering engine isn't in charge for actual output. It's left at the point of abstract element wrappers there.

You're saying that KT's browser lacks handlers for audio. Is there any effort from hacking community to implement these functionality?

It might.
I know of someone who is (or was) working on a browser re-build to include at least audio media.

THIS FOLLOWING INFO IS K3 specific - and possibly of no relevance.

well, it's not info on the Ktouch, but I can confirm the web client on the 3 is definitely not sound friendly OOTB. :/ ( I tested 7 known methods and a few twangles, no joy)

I suspect a complete correctly configured webkit replacement would be required.
EDIT: Which isn't utterly out of the question.
Also a qt solution may rear it's head in the future.
