Rats my fears confirmed. A year ago Nuance Communications, Inc bought Swype. My first thought was what are they going to do with FlexT9 I hoped they would keep both products but I did not see the rational of keeping two identical products. Though FlexT9 was a better product, Swype has the bigger name. (I've looked both in the Market and in Amazon appstore the product is not listed)

Recently Swype went into beta and many of the FlexT9 features are included in Swype. It seems they have merged the two products and dropped support for FlexT9. That is too bad. For those that don't know the Swype business model. Folks cannot buy it from the Play store it is only available for for phone manufactures.

Users can download the beta product for free but once the beta is over the product will not be available.

Thanks for your suggestions, I actually installed "7notes with mazec" before I read any reply's. It works great, either converting or not as you like.

Will try out the others I'm sure.

What I did find rather coolio, was google's handwrite
Just write anywhere on the screen, great with the n7 and a nice pen, kind of hoping they come out with a way to take notes with it, instead of just search.

Anyway, lots of options, only need to find one that I like.

Question from a potential buyer. I see the Nexus 7 has GPS. Does this mean it has a full reciever with background maps? Are the maps something you download and is there a charge? Just wondering how the GPS works.

You can download maps via Google maps for offline use when away from WiFi (like while driving). There is no charge.

Google Maps is not really designed for offline usage, until very recently it only worked while online.

To access maps offline you must download them manually. There is no charge for using Google maps.

I think you have to do the routing while online but after that it should be OK to be offline.
