Hume, David: Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion. V1. 11 July 2012
David Hume (7 May [O.S. 26 April] 1711 – 25 August 1776) was a Scottish philosopher, historian, economist, and essayist, known especially for his philosophical empiricism and scepticism. He was one of the most important figures in the history of Western philosophy and the Scottish Enlightenment. Hume is often grouped with John Locke, George Berkeley, and a handful of others as a British Empiricist.
[ The Dialogues wikipedia ]
In the Dialogues, Hume's characters debate a number of arguments for the existence of God, and arguments whose proponents believe through which we may come to know the nature of God. Such topics debated include the argument from design -- for which Hume uses a house -- and whether there is more suffering or good in the world (argument from evil).
[ This Edition ]
I started with this PRC format book: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30815, smartened up the formatting to make it more pleasurable to read, added some footnotes as linked endnotes and did some basic checks against a print edition.
Like all my uploads this is something I wanted in epub form but couldn't find a good copy; I hope it's of interest to someone else.
