vacation?

Did the development of Sigil stop on June 27 with the version 0.5.902 (0.6 beta2) (which is unfortunately removed for download, and there is no new version available)? Or just everybody is on vacation?

Would like to see Sigil 0.6.x and would like even to help ...

The developer of Sigil has a full time job elsewhere. The feedback he got pointed in several different directions, mostly incompatible with each other: (kill book view, save book view) (sync bv with cv, no sync bv with cv)(support epub3, death to epub3 and apple), etc, plus wrestling with crashing in find and replace, etc.

He is probably just thinking things over.

Please give user_none and his faithfull side-kick meme a break. If you see at the amount of work they achieve, it is to be applauded.

With the amount of feedback they have enough information to work on 0.6. It will probably be still at least a month. In the meantime, enjoy version 0.5.3. It works well enough to keep you happy. Everybody wants new things, but most people would like to have them working well.

One other thing that slows the pace of development is the fact that it is written in some variation of the C programming language. This was done by the original developer who did it for his college work.

Calibre is written in python which appears to be easier to manage and has modules that already do more for the programmer, as I understand it.

Per the python web site: Anecdotal evidence suggests that one Python programmer can finish in two months what two C++ programmers can't complete in a year.
