TOC Sigil- question
I know how to generate a TOC titles with text. Is there a way to generate a TOC by using an Image instead of a header? In the Toc.ncx I see the
<text>More 80's Dancehall Record labels</text>
can I replace the <text> with <image>image name</image>

A Picture of a list is only a single item
A picture CAN be a Anchor or (IMHO) obscured on many devices, link to the TOC
You can make a Graphic Heading into a Sigil TOC recognized by the TOC generator,
<h3 class="calibreN" title="your TOC heading" id="heading_id_2"><span><img alt="" class="calibreM" src="../Images/image1.jpg" /></span></h3>

No. No images (linked or otherwise) IN the toc.ncx file. Images might be technically possible according to the NCX specs, but no epub reading system that I know of will render images with its built-in TOC navigation.

Of course -- and I really hate to bring this up, but-- you could use images in an inline TOC.xhtml (which you could point to from the toc.ncx, to make it easy to get to from anywhere in the epub). It would still be a two-click process, though.

True, but shan't work in a Nook, which displays the NCX for the human reader when the "Contents" icon is tapped. I find it the easiest TOC to use in the whole pantheon of devices, myself.
