Need a simple tweak to a recipe

Hi there,

I would like to download the feed at http://topics.nytimes.com/top/opinio...dex.html?rss=1

I put this into Calibre using Basic mode and it came out perfect except that the articles don't say who the author is. In the RSS, each item has an author attribute. Is there a simple way to add this to the feed?

Thanks!

Just noticed that if I turn off auto_cleanup, I get the author names but also a lot of other crap. It would be best if I could get author name and photos but none of the other stuff...

It's awesome that Calibre fetches the full article text, by the way!

I found auto_cleanup_keep in the API, but I have tried to use it to no avail!

Can anyone give me a hand with this? I've tried auto_cleanup_keep with every element containing the byline, and it's just not working. Getting frustrated!

In the log I found this line:

Cleaned 1.323 .authorIdentification - nyt_author_id with weight 0 cause it has too many links 0.333 for its weight 0.

OK... In case anyone does read this thread... it took me a while, but I figured it out. Instead of using auto cleanup, I decided to just use keep_only_tags and remove_tags instead. I got it looking like I wanted now!

I looked at a bunch of built-in-recipes and figured out how to do a lot. I am customizing a bunch of others now too. Yay!

auto_cleanup_keep only works for some kinds of elements, typically top-level block ones, if you cannot get it to work for you, it's easier to use the manual removal facilities, as you discovered.
