Calibre default reader vs. Kindle app question
I'd like to use the Calibre reader on my MBP to read books. Currently, when I open an ebook in Calibre the Kindle application launches and the book is opened in Kindle instead. How do I change the default reader?

Preferences>Behavior>"Use internal viewer for" - simply check the appropriate boxes. Unchecked formats open in the operating system's default application.

also...

there is an "Open With" plugin which provides a way to bypass both calibre's preferred app and the system default directing the open instruction to a specified app.

I set prefs and system settings to use my preferred proofing/reading apps. I then use Open With to access apps (open cover in Photoshop, open ePub in Sigil for editing, ...) that I only use for special functions.
