Wireless Problem
I got my iliad yesterday and I really love this device.
My problem is today I tried to connect my iliad to ids by using wireless connection but the screen always showed It unsuccessfully connected to my wireless router. This is my router configuration Linksys Wireless G router (wrt54gs) using WEP key: 10 digit numbers (I also disabled WEP but it didn't work) DHCP: enable Note I can connect to ids by using lan cable My iliad has developer package with V2.11 software I tried to search this forums and also irex forums but didn't find the solution. I hope someone can help me solve the problem.. thank you in advance beer |

I've seen people talking about v2.11 needing your wireless router to broadcast the SID. See if you have that setup on the router.
Also, make sure you're not blocking by MAC address on the router. If you are, then the MAC address printed on the back label of the iLiad is NOT the one that you want to use. That's the MAC address for the wired interface. The wireless interface has a different MAC. |

Thank you for your suggestion Shaggy
Finally I solved the problem by myself. After I downloaded nice app from k2r at this post: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho....php?t=8802/#5 and read the log file. I came up with some idea and solved the problem first the log file told me that the iLiad couldn't find the specified SSID even I saw it from the connection wizard. second My SSID was "B[e]Er" which contains some special characters. After I analyzed this, I changed my SSID to "Beer" and tried to connect again. It's work conclusion: If you set your wireless router according to this list Security :WEP 10 digits DHCP: enable don't forget to set your SSID to use only charracter a-z and maybe 0-9 (for number I didn't test) thank you for looking |

My WiFi network is using WPA security without broadcasting the SSID. My SSID is composed of letters and dollar signs. No problem so far in getting connected to iDS.
Cheers!! |

No Christmas Joy - no wireless connection
I am having an awful time trying to get the wireless to work I am using a Dlink DIR-655. I have no issues with the Wired side of things
I've gone through the following: 1) Search and unable to find our network ever although it finds all the neighbours () 2) manually configured a half dozen times to no avail 3) removed all encryption and manually created a profile - THIS WORKED 4) tried a WEP connection - no go 5) tried a WPA connection - no go 6) upgraded the firmware to 1.11 on my router 7) after 3-4 searches in a row the iLiad now auto-detects the network 8) still will not connect with any sort of encyption enabled. These are the settings from the router: SSID: AddingtonWireless Security Mode: WPA Only - Personal Cipher Type: TKIP Pre-shared Key: xxxx Any help would be greatly appreciated... thx jack |

jaddington, I'm not sure about your problems.
From your info, you should be able to connect to ids. what is the version of your iliad, someone said the older version than 2.11 can not use wpa. and Did you use only hex digit for your security key? |

Wireless Problem
It is brand new, v2.11. I am using a regular string for the key. I thought the Hex only was for WEP, not WPA. Allthought I will have to give that a try this evening.
thx jack |

update
I entered some info at irex support and they are asking for it to be returned for repairs. No try this, try that, just please send it back and pay for shipping :-(.
Oh well, guess it is going back since we used up the 7 day return policy while it was sitting under the tree. |

If it's a warranty repair I thought they would pay the shipping?

DIR 655
I had the same problem with my iLiad and DIR 655. To fix it I had to do two things:
Turn WISH off This option is found on the Advanced Tab Turn off WiFi Protected SetupAgain found under the Advanced Tab I am now connected with WPA secutiry to my wireless network
