Free (DRM-free ePub/Mobi) Trans-Siberian Express by Warren Adler [Spy Thriller]

Trans-Siberian Express by Read an E-Book Week participant Warren Adler, author of The War of the Roses comedy novel which the 80s movie was based upon, is another promotional offering, free courtesy of the author himself.

This is a Cold War spy thriller with a bit of romance in it and will be free for a limited time, maybe just a few days, likely no longer than next Sunday.

Download directly via the right-hand sidebar @ the author's website after filling in your name and a CAPTCHA (no email or newsletter subscription required, but you might as well, in case he sends out more freebie alerts), after which you'll be directed to a page with DRM-free ePub and Mobi versions.

As it turns out, in addition to being low-priced and couponable via Kobo, Sony, and elsewhere, Adler has been a longstanding Fictionwise author as well, though his books are still priced higher there than elsewhere, as it looks as though he has reduced them recently in other outlets but forgot about FW.

But even so, it may work out cheapest to get his books @ Fictionwise if there's a good 50%+ discount coupon available should you buy.

Description
International intrigue and suspense on the world's longest and most exotic train ride.

During the bad old days of the Soviet Union, famous American cancer specialist Dr. Alex Cousins is sent by the President of the United States to Russia to prolong the life of the Secretary General of the Politburo. While in Russia, Cousins learns that the Soviets plan to attack China.

Suspecting that he knows their secret, the Soviets send him home via the Trans-Siberian Express, which, they hope, will keep him silent until it is too late to stop the attack. On the train, he meets a beautiful KGB Agent who has been ordered to keep him under surveillance until the trip is over. The inevitable occurs as Cousins and the gorgeous Soviet agent transcend political implications and fall desperately in love.

This powerful love story will keep the reader transfixed and absorbed as the Trans-Siberian Express speeds its way across the vastness of Siberia.
