Help please : my KT is bricked

Hello,

I decided to use my KT after a long time without using it. But, it doesn't work any more. The screen is black but it appears some white letters.
So, I tried to unbrick it using kubrick 3.6. It didn't work. I ran the first steps without any problem. But, as my KT remained bricked, I didn't succeed in choosing between the 4 options. So, I had to cancel before the end of the kubrick process.
The difference, now, is that my KT is not even more detected as USB mass storage. It was, before my unbricking tentative.
Anyone can help me please ? Any suggestion ?

Sorry for my english

Are you running Kubrick on the actual hardware?
Or are you trying to run it in a virtual machine?

Please post the exact error message that you saw in Kubrick, and maybe a photo of the current state of the Kindle.

That seems relatively normal. Your Kindle is probably still in fastboot or diags mode. You can also try to re-start the entire debrick procedure.

There is no error in Kubrick. It is only waiting a command from my Kindle (4 choices). But, the problem is that I have to choose this command on the Kindle touchsreen that is not running.

Spoiler:

Hmm...
Now that seems to be a real problem.
No way to get user input into the device.

Do not give up. It isn't completely dead (well, the battery might be).

The author, ixtab, will probably have some more directions and questions for you to help get you out of this never-never land.

Ah, you got me on that one!
I didn't notice the O.P. mentioning that is the way it was before they started to de-brick a broken screen.

Hmmm... not "there may be" - "there is". Cracked screen substrate.

Google for "Kindle broken screen" or so, and you will see that they all look pretty much like your screen. Your only option is to replace the screen - or the whole device. If you decide for the latter, you may want to announce that you have a Kindle with a broken screen to give away (say, for the cost of shipping). It is still a valuable device for some of the developers here.

Sorry for the bad news.

Yup -
Mention your country, we have developers spread around the world.
Someone close to you may want it.

In my past few weeks of shopping for "broken" Kindles to use as development boards . . . .
I have found an interesting (and someday troublesome) thing about the Kindle Paperwhite:
The Touch Screen layer and the Front Light layer survives, but the actual e-ink screen still breaks.

Careful shopping can turn up something that will work as a development board at a very low price.
Except for the DX and DXG - -
Even after being run over by a truck and passed through a wood chipper, those things are still expensive.

I am living in Brazil.
I didn't know that these screen were so delicate.
I'm going to try to change it. If it too expensive, I will give it.
Thanks for the advices.

I never saw an inverted image like that. Is that a result of the broken screen?

Yup, it is. Every broken screen looks a bit different and unique, but the common pattern is always that there are distortions (like at the left edge in wighou's picture), random lines, random inversions etc.
