And I've tried the search feature, it is passable for sure. Just always wondered about reputation, but now I've got some ideas for ways to work-around, definitely will look at that a bit more closely. I just wish the ebook sellers would get their act together and realize we can SEE that the prices in some/most cases are cheaper for the paperback or in some cases even hardcover thean the ebook. Makes no sense to me, logically. Especially when I just read another article recently about ebook popularity, and the amounts people are buying... *shrugs* Another thing I'd like to see is digital download available when you DO purchase hardcover, like you can with some Bluray movies now. THAT is brilliant to me, jmo. Also, at times how about putting on the odd sale where you want to purchase all of one authors' works, give us a break! Anyways, sounds like I'll be keeping my eyes open for a Sony PRST1 deal. I've read here that they've come on sale in the US in the $80-90 range, so hopefully I can get a deal like that at some point. And in the meantime guess I'll be trying the Amazon software to take advantage of some freebies/deals in the meantime. I appreciate everyone's time and input so far.

Seen this on another thread (my apologies for not giving credit, can't remember who, or which thread) http://inkmesh.com/
Personally, I've never had a problem using Paypal. Hesitated recommending it since the users on B&N's forum prophesied everything from the death of my pets to world cataclysm for using it. Paypal has served me well and prevents the need to give out identifying information, and their buyer protection is very good. Good luck finding a deal on the PRS-T1

If you are keeping your Kobo then there is no harm in buying a Kindle. You will still have easy access to your EPub books and the library while also having easy access to the Kindle ecosystem.
If you are getting rid of your Kobo, then go for the Sony.

Another pro of Sony is that you can use its stylus (and Sony ebook reader is obviously a cheaper price) ! I know that this is out of topic but I think it might be good if you don't have to carry a small notebook with you all the time. (I have Touch and I have to bring a small notebook with me since I love to take notes all write my new ideas).

Thank you everyone for your input. I'm 99.9% sure I will be buying the Sony PRST1, I'm just waiting on that 'great deal'.
But I have one more question, I've seen people commenting regarding something about the shiny bezel. Should I be concerned? What color should I buy? Would it make a difference? My preference is generally black to hide any scuff marks that may occur. But I always have my KT in it's case anyways. And I would do the same [buy case with light] and keep the Sony in that as well. Thoughts? Suggestions? All are appreciated. And thank you so much again for people taking time out of their busy lives to post helpful comments.

I bought a silicone thing that goes over the back of the T1 and covers up most of the shiny bezel. (Not a vinyl sticker). I like it a lot, I keep the T1 in a zipper pouch when not it use.

Not sure exactly why you want to move away from the KoboTouch?
It seems like a pretty good reader, definitely one of the sexiest readers out there and one of the great things about Kobo readers is that you can use the Kobo app to sync your books across all your devices. If you were to get a Sony then you wouldn't be able to sync with anything. If you're looking to get into the Amazon ecosystem then by all means get a Kindle but as it stands right now I don't see why you would want to leave Kobo. Why not wait until the next generation of readers comes out? |

Future Shop as the T1 on at $129 ($20 off) until April 26th, tomorrow last day. So far that is the cheapest I've seen recently. They have the Touch at $129 but the sales guy said it might be reduced to $109 within the next couple of weeks.
I too am looking, between T1 and Touch Eink readers. Can't use my LCD screen any longer, it is real problem for my eyes. |

Starting TODAY the Kobo Touch is now on sale for $99.99 at future shop and best buy canada! The Sony T1 cover was $54.99 yesterday and today it is $44.99 at both stores. I'm going back for a $10 refund. ;-)

I went with the Sony T1 with Sony cover with attached light. The cover is . . . . well cheap looking and feel but the sony reader fit is the most secure I've ever seen in any cover. I thought these lights were a joke when I was using my lcd reader . . . now I think they are terrific. btw I gave up my lcd reader because after about 6 months my eyes started to really bother me. Doesn't seem to be a problem with eInk.
