Free (nook/Kindle/iTunes/DRM-free) Shame [Xtian Sports Coach Literary/Men's Fiction]

Shame: A Novel by Greg Garrett is a contemporary literary/men's fiction novel centred around a basketball coach going through a bit of a mid-life crisis in Oklahoma as his high school reunion approaches and his children start to rebel, but apparently gets the impetus of an upcoming sports exhibition to try and sort his life out and realize the things that are truly important in the obligatory journey of self-discovery, free courtesy of Christian publisher David C. Cook.

Currently free, probably just for the rest of the day @ B&N, Amazon (available to Canadians and in the UK), iTunes & Google Play (both available to Canadians), BookShout (available for online reading & app download), and possibly several other stores linked in the publisher's catalogue page. For some reason this doesn't seem to have dropped at ChristianBook (DRM-Free ePub available to selected countries), which normally gets the DCC freebies, but it may simply not be free in my particular locale this time around and might be in yours, instead.

Description
John Tilden's glory days are far behind him, and now it seems like all he has is the monotony of every day living. He certainly thought there'd be more to it than his ramshackle Oklahoma farm and a mundane job coaching basketball at his old high school. He questions his fatherhood skills too: his oldest son won't speak to him, his younger son wants to quit the basketball team, and now his daughter wants to go out on dates. He loves his wife, but the marriage has settled into complacency.

Now his twentieth high school reunion looms and he has agreed to play in an exhibition game at the reunion, which is sure to be a wretched joke. And his ex-girlfriend's back in town, newly single.

Twenty years is plenty long enough for a man to mope after what might have been. It's time for John to make himself understand that.
