All those erorr messages are caused by filesystem errors on your Kobo. If they recur after a reformat/reset, then you should
1) try a different or no sd card if you are using one 2) return your kobo

Do you have any other USB devices attached at the same time? iPhone / iPad / ... ?

It does seem strange that you are getting repeated errors with different units.

That was why I asked my question. I had this problem with my first 2 PEz, they did not behave with Intel USB2 Enhanced mode. (My Black one does fine)

the chipset is listed as intel 865 chipset family
memory controller is is 82865g/p/pe or 82848p the i/o controller is listed as 82801eb/er (ich5/ich5r) so its sounds like your talking about it being a usb error, i'll go check the bios settings and see what i find |

In the device manager: Locate the line for USB2.0 enhanced: Right click: Disable Note: This temporarily turns all the ports into USB 1.x mode so any USB2 device will suffer from slower speeds. Repair the filesystem on your Kobo (scandisk). And transfer some books and see what happens I found an OLD USB1 board with an Opti chip for use with my reader so I could have my USB2 mode back (I do get a Nag the 'My device can run faster'. just ignore it )

I upgraded to Kobo touch in the summer, never had a problem until I upgraded firmware on it within the last couple of months. Then I got the "error communicating with device" a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to add a couple of books to my Kobo. [I use Calibre also to manage my Kobo]. I read around here, did a reset, re-downloaded firmware, and then added my library, just a few at a time as suggested. When I tried to add more than 10 or so, I would get the error again, so stayed at a few at a time and finally, slowly, re-built my 202 book library. But when I connected last time to make changes, got the error again, when I tried to add 2 books!!! PLEASE HELP! And thank you for the past year of advice!
