Post Möllhausen, Balduin: Palmblätter und Schneeflocken - Band 2 v2; März 2012

Balduin Möllhausen (1825-1905) war Forschungsreisender - Begleiter von Herzog Paul Wilhelm von Württemberg auf einer Tour in die südlichen Rocky Mountains und Mitglied bei zwei amerikanischen Regierungsexpeditionen - und er war Zeichner und Maler. Er malte Pflanzen, Tiere, Indianer und Landschaften, ein Werk von Hunderten von Zeichnungen und Aquarellen.
Allein dies alles hätte Balduin Möllhausen bleibende Bedeutung gesichert, denn seine Reiseberichte und Bilder sind mit der Geschichte der Erforschung des amerikanischen Westens untrennbar verknüpft.
Aber Balduin Möllhausen war auch einer der meistgelesenen Schriftsteller seiner Zeit. Zusammen mit Charles Sealsfield, Friedrich Gerstäcker und Karl May gehört Balduin Möllhausen zu den bedeutendsten Autoren des deutschen ethnographischen Abenteuerromans im 19.Jahrhundert. (Ablit.de)
