Wallace, Edgar: Kate, Plus Ten. v1. 8 February 2012
Another early Edgar Wallace, showing him getting into his stride. This was published in 1917, but the tone suggests it is set before the Great War--or ignores it completely.
There is an amusing refeerence to Kate wearing "a very short dress" which at that time meant showing six inches of ankle.
If you are going to steal s fortune in gold from a special train, why not steal the whole train? Only master strategist Kate Westhanger, the brains behind the Crime Street gang, could bring it off.
