James, M. R.: Ghost Stories Of An Antiquary and More, v1.0, 2007-12-01

This ebook includes James' Ghost Stories Of An Antiquary(1904) and More Ghost Stories Of An Antiquary(1911).
These two books contain some of James' finest stories including 'The Ash-Tree', 'Oh, Whistle and I'll Come to You, My Lad', 'Canon Alberic's Scrap-book', 'Casting the Runes' and others.

Montague Rhodes James, OM (August 1, 1862 – June 12, 1936), who published under the byline M. R. James, was a noted British mediaeval scholar and provost of King's College, Cambridge (1905–1918) and of Eton College (1918–1936). He is best remembered today for his ghost stories in the classic Victorian Yuletide vein, which are widely regarded as among the finest in English literature.

The BBC produced five of James' stories for their annual 'A Ghost Story for Christmas' series, but I've only seen the excellent 'Oh, Whistle and I'll Come to You, My Lad' with Michael Hordern.

Also Fritz Lieber's Our Lady of Darkness was written as an homage to James.
Enjoy!

Thanks for this , good timing with Christmas fast approaching.
Perfect to curl up with in front of a roaring fire, with the wind whistling round the eaves, and rattling the front door
