libnickel.so with kiwix-serve modifications for firmware 3.19.5761
In case anyone is still interested, I went and patched the libnickel.so from 3.19.5761 in the manner described at https://a3nm.net/blog/kobo_glo_hacking.html. This means that you can launch the browser without requiring to connect to wifi, and use wikipedia with kiwix-serve offline.
The instructions are pretty much the same, except you need to include the line
ifconfig lo 127.0.01
in your rcS file, before you launch kiwix-serve, and the file to replace is called libnickel.so.1.0.0.
The patched file is available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxj...lLVmxRbUk/view
On a related note, does anyone know how to get kiwix-serve to respect a mobile user agent?

The page turning is getting a bit hinky, the touch for the library works too well. It comes up when you try to swipe. It might take 3 swipes to go forward, then it jumps pages.
Is it the screen, software or what? I'm using the version that ends in 3.15 something.

Oh, interesting, I didn't know about this patch... being able to launch the browser w/o network should be useful for lots of things.
