Troubles with headers when converting to epub
I'm having numerous difficulties using Calibre to convert my ebook to epub. I am using Adobe Digital Editions to view the final product and experiencing the following troubles:
1. The bust luck I've had so far is converting MS Word > HTML > epub, but it refuses to recognize my headers and place them in the Navigation Pane of Digital Editions. Instead it just says "Start."
This problem does not show up when I convert MS Word > PDF > epub, however if I do that then all the links are dead and there's a bizarre problem with the first line of a haiku that for some reason shows up at the end of the previous paragraph.

Did you read the tutorial and manual? Both linked here:
If you have and can't figure out what to do we really can't help you without seeing a code snippet.
If you're saying conversion to pdf as an intermediate works then Heuristics will probably work, but the fact that heuristics will work would indicate that your headers aren't using h1/h2/h3 tags, which means something went wrong with the formatting in word and/or the conversion from word to html.
