From the file size it seems to be a full update instead of delta.

EDIT: yup, complete system update with kernel, boot loader, recovery, and system. All apks, libs, etc. Signed, unfortunately.

EDIT 2: also, seeing that the fire runs Kindle 6.0 (even though it is nothing like the older kindle software) and the Non-Touch runs 4.0, I'm going to take a wild guess and say the touch will run 5.0. Should we call it the Kindle 5?

From the source: K5/KT's board is codenamed Whitney. It had an accelerometer, like the dx.

And sometime during the prototype process, amazon added an sd card slot. This of course can't be seen from the production model, but I wonder if it's hidden inside the case. Or if there is an unsoldered sd card slot inside.

What do you mean, signed? Amazon specifically said they weren't going to actively prevent rooting.

They did? The updates are signed as in if you modify the update, it won't run.

Maybe they'll allow bootloader unlocking or the bootloader is unlocked?

There is an SD built-in to the fire for apps that need it. It isn't removable though, according to the dev pages.
