In that case, I'd just grab the closest, shortest book I could find in order to get the world all saved as quick as possible. Maybe a children's 10 pager. Then I'd start worrying about what I want to read again.

If it was the end of the world, I for one would not want too take my mind away from the now, by escaping into a book. I would stand and witness the event, nothing could be done so might as well make the most of it, without going completely bonkers.
