This means the $499 16 GB Playbook is, effectively, $334 each ... but you have to buy three.

It's a better deal at $200 off which is what some retailers had it for last month.

BlackBerry is quite desperate get these things off the shelves.

Over here, we just recently had an IT and Tech exhibition (a long-running annual event) where, on the last day, BB had a 'buy one, get one free' deal.

Sad, really.

I like the playbook as a device but the thing that prevents me from getting it is that alot of the benefits of a blackberry tablet are useless unless you have a blackberry phone wich i dont and wont have.

Whats wierd is i dont think RIM understands that that one mistake is what doomed the tablet the most, it eliminated the non blackberry fan and the non enterprise buyers right away. Who gets the brilliant idea to lock out 90% of your prospective byers right off at the start? all thier commercials say the device is for entertainment yet its all geared for enterprise

Totally misleading. So many without Blackberrys were anxiously awaiting the release.

In my opinion, the PlayBook's biggest problem is that it's not Android or iOS. I can overlook that flaw if they drop the price to $99.

I think they have totally lost the plot. What are they hoping. For some odd reason I want this thing and so I buy 2 and give one to my wife. She would most likely never take it out the packaging and then I would do what with the third one? It's not like you can put them on the bottom of the budgie cage to catch the droppings or anything useful like that.

I'm quite tired but I could see this a small business investment or something, and not much else, unless you're one of those families where every member has a phone so they all get a playbook? I can't see a group of students doing that, but then I don't know many students anymore so maybe. . .
