How's that for an attention getter?

Here's what's up. My friend, and multi-Nebula Award winning author, Ed Bryant, is in a bad predicament. Ed has has some severe (science-fiction-story-worthy) health problems, and now his old car has died, putting him in a really bad way financially.

To help Ed, my ReAnimus Press is republishing everything Ed has written,
including his co-authored novel with Harlan Ellison, PHOENIX WITHOUT ASHES. Based on Harlan's award-winning teleplay. We're starting with ebooks, and taking pre-orders RIGHT NOW so we can get funds to Ed immediately. Almost all the funds from this go directly to Ed, and to him right now. We'll send an email to those who made pre-orders letting them know when the files are ready to download (early next year). Just to clarify, this is a PRE-ORDER, so we can get the badly-needed funds to Ed right away, and you'll get an email when the ebook is ready, early next year.

Harlan is generously donating all his author proceeds from this to Ed. (But to clarify, this is only regarding the -novel- edition that he co-wrote with Ed; Harlan also has a [cool] -graphic novel- edition of Phoenix, but Ed didn't work on that.)

Dr. Drib, that's the graphic novel from a different publisher. We're doing the novel. (i.e. ordinary novel-like prose text, no drawings.)

I had called Harlan and we talked about that edition, and how it's a very different thing. (Ed wasn't involved, for one thing.) Same time at which Harlan told me to give all his author's proceeds for our novel edition to Ed to help him out.

Our edition will be on Amazon too once it's ready (and B&N, etc.). But Amazon doesn't do pre-orders for us small publishers, so the pre-orders are only via our web store until it's finished. (Not to mention we are DRM-free and you get both EPUB and MOBI.) Ed is in dire need of the funds, hence the pre-order approach.

Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue.
