Boogie Board "Rip eWriting Pad" lets you save and export your doodles and notes
Just announced at IFA the new version of Improv's 9.5" Boogie Board Includes memory and a usb board. Using the same "reflex" LCD as previous Boogie Boards this wont allow you to recall to the display what you have previously erased but it does come with an erase lock to ensure you get a chance to save what you want. Thats a huge plus btw, not long ago i was at teh gorcery store getting out of the car with my list in hand on a Boogie Board when i acidentally clicked the erase button.
No Price just yet

Halfway there, but not quite enough for my needs. Need to see what I had previously written, sometimes while I'm still writing.

Well, my current boogieboards have a life span of a few years more, otherwise I'd probably have ordered one.

I think people demanding saving content on them misunderstood the concept - they were nothing more than a tech-ed (and non messy) wipeable board replacement.
the company making them mad IMO two mistakes from the beginning on:
1.) more different sizes from small pocket and planner-binders up to chalk- whiteboard replacements for class- and meeting rooms.
2.) no fixed unreplaceable battery from the beginning on; maybe no batt at all
if these things really need only a small "spark" of electricity to wipe, a short-time collector (condensator?)+ a soar cell would have been sufficient.
btw. as this thing ws already mentioned in another thread, and some ppl wrote they use some kind of scanpen which requires special dotted paper:
wacom anounced a biro called inkling which does the same on every paper.
