Book directory on remote server

Hi,

I have a remote server that hosts my websites etc, on which I have a lot of space and bandwidth available. It occurs to me that, if I were able to put my Calibre directory and metadata on that server then I could access it from multiple systems.

Is this possible with Calibre as it stands now? Or are only local and networked (LAN) drives supported? If it is supported, what would be the best protocol to use?

Thanks!

Investigate these two possible solutions.

Calibre2opds - OPDS catalogs from your Calibre library

PHP+Apache web server for calibre

Good Luck

If you have root access to your web server, it may be possible to use Calibre's content server as well. However, that would require installation of Calibre and some sort of X window system to be running.
