Cover Image size

My cover image is a jpg 600 px x 800 px as I read was recommended but it's showing up with a white border on the sides and bottom, and when converted to mobi it scales it with the white borders. it there a setting somewhere I am missing.

thanks all, you've been a big help to this newbie.

I use
<img class="fullpage" alt="cover" [... etc] />

with
.fullpage {
height: 100%;
max-width: 100%
}

Alternatively, you can use svg:
Code:
  <div>
    <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" height="100%" preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMid meet" version="1.1" viewBox="0 0 600 800" width="100%">
      <image height="800" width="600" xlink:href="../Images/cover.jpeg"></image>
    </svg>
  </div>

If you're converting you epub to .mobi as well, I'd suggest not using SVG

I prefer the svg option. Therefore you don't need to convert a image file to the right size. Simply say how big it is and it scales it on every device perfect.

When making the cover image, keep it aspect ratio correct.
