The Days and Months We Were First Born- Family By Fate (Book 2 of 3), by Christopher Hunter, is back in the Kindle store and once again free.

It was apparently free on Smashwords (but is, no longer), so Amazon dropped the price. He fixed the price at SM and added the book back to Kindle, but Amazon hasn't updated the price yet. Grab it while it's free, if you want it.

The third title, The Days and Months We Were First Born - The Journey (Book 3 of 3), is $2.99 and not likely to change price anytime soon.

From the file sizes, each "book" seems about a novella in length and the only review so far seems to think it sets the stage well for a series of actual novels later on.

Personal Demons (The Jake Helman Files) by Gregory Lamberson (Amazon Main, Amazon DE) (Medallion Press)

Quote:
Product Description
Jake Helman, an elite member of the New York Special Homicide Task Force, faces what every cop dreads—an elusive serial killer. While investigating a series of bloodletting sacrifice rituals executed by an ominous perpetrator known as the Cipher, Jake refuses to submit to a drug test and resigns from the police department. While battling a cocaine addiction, Jake starts a high-pressure position as the director of security at Tower International, a controversial genetic-engineering company. Beneath the polished exterior of the corporate identity and the CEO—who has a reputation as the frontiersman on the cutting edge of science—is a deranged mind. As Jake delves deeper into this frightening laboratory, he discovers much more than unethical practices performed in the name of human progress. Sequestered in rooms veiled in secrecy is the worst crime the world will ever see—the theft of the human soul. Horrifying and gruesome, this is a gripping, suspense-filled novel that offers intense arguments about science, ethics, and human life.

Ten Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health by Donald S Whitney (Amazon Main, Amazon DE) (NavPress)

Quote:
Product Description
Are you spiritually healthy, or just spiritually busy? If you’re like many Christians who desire a deeper walk with Christ, you’re probably pursuing activities geared to help you grow. But you may wonder if you’re really making progress. You’re spiritually active, but are you spiritually healthy? Would Jesus look at your endeavors (prayer, church attendance, evangelism, Bible study, etc.) and pronounce you spiritually fit? Or does He have an altogether different set of criteria by which He measures your spiritual well-being? Best-selling author Don Whitney (Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life) is no stranger to activities and disciplines designed to move believers toward a deeper relationship with Jesus. But the ten probing questions Whitney poses in this book will help you look beyond your spiritual activity to assess the true state of your spiritual health. His questions cut to the heart of the matter: Is your character becoming more like Christ’s? Are you spiritually healthy, or just spiritually busy? Don Whitney will help you ask yourself the right questions for evaluating your growth in the areas that really matter.

by Donald G. Lewis (reduced to $0.99 at the US Kindle store, but still $7.96 at B&N)

Quote:
Product Description
Donald G. Lewis's love of food began with his roots. He remembers picking berries for his mother to prepare special cobbler, and his grandmother churning butter while he sat on her porch swing. His love of those tastes led him to a career creating gourmet creations for customers locally in Texas and nationwide. His recipes reflect a sensibility that is time-tested, a love of fresh ingredients, and a creative spirit that allows him to add modern taste to traditional down-home flavor. Featuring recipes for every course of the meal, with an emphasis on spectacular desserts, Country Cooking brings the tastes of country to your table and will have your loved ones asking for them again and again.

Zombie, Ohio: A Tale of the Undead by Scott Kenemore (reduced to $1.99 for US Kindle, but is still $9.99 at B&N)

Quote:
Product Description
“No one is safe in a zombie apocalypse. Not even a zombie.”

When rural Ohio college professor Peter Mellor dies in an automobile accident during a zombie outbreak, he is reborn as a highly intelligent (yet somewhat amnesiac) member of the living dead. With society crumbling around him and violence escalating into daily life, Peter quickly learns that being a zombie isn’t all fun and brains. Humans—unsympathetic, generally, to his new proclivities—try to kill him at nearly every opportunity. His old friends are loath to associate with him. And he finds himself inconveniently addicted to the gooey stuff inside of people’s heads.

As if all this weren’t bad enough, Peter soon learns that his automobile accident was no accident at all. Faced with the harrowing mystery of his death, Peter resolves to use his strange zombie “afterlife” to solve his own murder.

Skillfully combining the genres of horror, humor, and film noir, Zombie, Ohio weaves an enthralling and innovative tale that any fan of the current zombie craze is sure to relish. Followers of detective and horror fiction alike will find something to love about Zombie, Ohio—a tale of murder, mystery, and the walking dead.

The End of the World: Stories of the Apocalypse by Martin H. Greenberg , Robert Silverberg (reduced to $0.99 for US Kindle)

Quote:
Product Description:

Famous stories of the apocalypse by the world’s best science fiction writers.
Before The Road by Cormac McCarthy brought apocalyptic fiction into the mainstream, there was science fiction. No longer relegated to the fringes of literature, this explosive collection of the world’s best apocalyptic writers brings the inventors of alien invasions, devastating meteors, doomsday scenarios, and all-out nuclear war back to the bookstores with a bang.

The best writers of the early 1900s were the first to flood New York with tidal waves, destroy Illinois with alien invaders, paralyze Washington with meteors, and lay waste to the Midwest with nuclear fallout. Now collected for the first time ever in one apocalyptic volume are those early doomsday writers and their contemporaries, including Neil Gaiman, Orson Scott Card, Lucius Shepard, Robert Sheckley, Norman Spinrad, Arthur C. Clarke, William F. Nolan, Poul Anderson, Fredric Brown, Lester del Rey, and more. Relive these childhood classics or discover them here for the first time. Each story details the eerie political, social, and environmental destruction of our world.
