Free book (MultiFormat DRM-free) - Solis by A.A. Attanasio [Science Fiction]
Phoenix Pick's free e-book of the month selection for July is renowned science fiction author A.A. Attanasio's solo novel Solis.
The coupon code you'll need for Solis is 99922191 when you enter it at the Phoenix Pick website.
This, like all of Phoenix Pick's e-books, is DRM-free, although MultiFormat is only available for their monthly freebies and when you buy directly from them you have to choose between ePub and Mobi (I recommend ePub and converting).
Also, they are offering bundle discount pricing when you buy several e-books at a time, including a 4-book bundle of Attanasio's popular "Radix" Tetrad (eponymous 1st in series was nominated for a Nebula) at 40% off, and a set of old-school sf classics by L. Sprague de Camp, Leigh Brackett & Edmond Hamilton, and Daniel Galouye.
And if you buy the bundles directly from the publisher, there's an extra 15% off the 40% off price when you enter the coupon codes below during checkout, which puts each book in the respective bundles at just slightly over $4.50 per, which is a pretty decent price for award-nominated/winning niche genre backlist and DRM-free.
More details on the latter are in their newsletter, which you can sign up for when you claim the monthly freebie, and their free serialization of L. Neil Smith's vampire mystery/thriller novel Sweeter Than Wine is now up to chapter 12, with all still available for download in ePub & Mobi.
The codes for the Radix bundle and the classics bundle to enter at checkout are:
Radix: DIRRE or DIRRM depending on whether you get ePub or Mobi
Classics: DIRCE or DIRCM
Mr. Charlie is a brain without a body, revived after being frozen for a thousand years.
Charlie Outis has no idea of what the world might be like in the far future after he decides to have his brain frozen with the slim hope of it being revived one day.
But even a thousand years from now, brains are a valuable commodity—even brains without heads. But who does the brain belong to? And who controls a mind without a body.
