Mobile broadband broken

In Dingo-1.12 I was able to connect using my 3G Internet stick using the "Mobile Broadband" option in the settings.

In Ermine, when I attempt to connect, it just says "Connecting to isp.telus.com..." and never actually connects. I restarted a few times with the same results.

I depend on this feature when I am mobile.

Does anyone know if Mobile Broadband works with Ermine on the full-size EE? I depend on this feature too.

Is this similar to connecting to a personal router like a mifi that provides a wifi hotspot off a 3G data connection? We don't have a mobile stick, but a mifi. I just tested on our mifi and that works, if that helps at all. Full size Edge.

No, it's not similar. :-( I have an USB 3G stick that works with the EE, and I don't like the idea that I'll have to buy a MiFi to use Ermine.
