What's the Difference Between a Widget and an App?

Brace yourselves. I'm going to ask a number of newbie questions . . .

What's the difference between a widget and an app?

Is there any difference in installing or uninstalling them?

Can I take any Widget from a Blogsite (like Blogspot) and put it on the screen of my tablet? If so, are there any special instructions for doing so?

Thanks!

An app is an application. A widget is typically a shortcut to an application (like a shortcut in Windows terminology). However, some widgets are "active", like the sidebar gadgets on a Windows Vista/7 desktop.

To add widgets, tap-and-hold on the home screen and go from there.
