What else are you going to do with all those paper books once the e-book takes over, eh? Use them for kindling.

I decided to add a poll on the matter, to get a quantified view -- hope you don't mind, JSWolf!

If you've seen that picture of the Kindle then you'll know that the name is the least of the worries, aesthetically speaking.

I think the name is a good idea, but not a good name...
![]() It might "Kindle" the love for ebooks or something...I'm sure we'll see lots of slogans building on that name somehow... |

In retrospec 'Kindle' feels like a codename. If I were an Amazon planner I'd change it out of spite for its unwanted premature unveiling.

I rather like the name. Has the implication of "firing" enthusiasm for eBooks.

I don't really have an opinion about the name. I'm more interested in the fact that Amazon is promoting ebooks. "A rose by any other name..." and all that.

It's a bit late to respond to a 4-year-old thread.

I disagree, I found it very interesting to see what folks once thought to the way it actually turned out...

Very true on all counts! I like the name - not love it, but like it. Its warm, friendly and cozy, like a good book. I can't see it being called anything else. |
