Winning Mars by J. Stoddard - free cc

Only pdf, but you can extract the text and use a tidy utility to make it nice (I use E-book Tidy).

It's an interesting novelization of an Interzone ss, and the author talks about his reasons of releasing it as cc.

I've just sent e-mail asking for permission to convert and post this book here. We'll see what happens.

Does manybooks have the rights to convert this?

I just took a look at their Sony LRF conversion and it's dreadful. Line spaces after every paragraph, no ToC, and the margins are too large.

It's issued under the Creative Commons license, so I assume so.

Manybooks has a lot of stuff like that: http://manybooks.net/categories/CCL
