10 (awesome?) Features Android Phones have that the iPhone does not

None of them particularly appeal to me.

Number 10 is alternate keyboards, number 7 is widgets, number 2 is flash.

One of my favorites on that list is the removable/replaceable battery and storage.

Of course that depends on the phone itself, not the OS.

David Carnoy of Cnet did a piece a little while back about the top 20 features most wanted on the iPhone 5.

17 or 18 of those features are currently on high end Android phones, LOL so basically iPhone buyers really just want an Android Phone but with the Apple logo on the back.

And of course they want all the features they already have, but that wouldn't be as fun to say, would it?

The slideout keyboard was what made me go with a droid rather than an iphone.

My favorite feature is that it DOESN'T have a fruit on it!

I always laugh when iPhone users say "updates" you might get a few minor updates that fix bugs or do something else but no major updates unless you get the latest phone.

I've had the droid x since late July, had eclair then in september had a REAL update ( something iphone user's can only dream of) with a whole new software version, Froyo and by the end of May I will have another new software verison Gingerbread. so that'll be two updated, and new software versions in less than a year.

but hey you iphone users can get an update that'll make your tiles wiggle when you touch them so you can FINALLY add them to a folder

Being dictated by iTunes isn't exactly what I call healthy. I love using both Amazon's and Google's ecosystem, I have choices. Choices are healthy. being able to buy and store my media where and when I want to is healthy

Of course they would still have all the features from iOS when switching to Android.

For a lot of users, features would include being able to sync all their music with iTunes and run iOS apps, so no, they wouldn't.

There are android apps that sync iTunes music to the android and many apps that exist on the Apple platform also exist on the android platform.

I think he's reaching on some features, but then again that's the great thing about choices. One had the option to user them or not.

The ability to change keyboard is very underplaid, to me that is one of the best features on the android platform.

I can understand for folks that just surf or play games on there devices these features may not seem like much, but for folks that use their devices for productivity they are huge.

you got android users there. without timely updates across the entire platform so many are left with open security holes. kinda like the one today that's been patched by 2.3.4... and there's only 1 phone that runs that version of android.

at least with apple, if a hole is found EVERY device gets patched at the same time.

Not quite true, for several reasons.

1.)You cannot run new OS versions on older hardware. My wife's old 3G would slow to a total crawl with iOS4.

2.)A significant percentage of iOS users wait for the jailbreak to be available before upgrading to new versions.

3.)Many Android users upgrade their phones with user ROMs (which tend to run a lot better than official ROMs). Besides, most of the problems with user ROMs are created by device manufacturers or phone companies. These two really are the ones responsible for upgrade delays.
