Don't worry, Hollyweird will be back buying the US Gov't in another 5-6 years to get another extension. My guess is they'll go for 100 more years, since the Supremes said any amount that wasn't perpetual was ok....

Instead of protecting the artist's rights, this time I expect the PR line is that they have to have the extension to create jobs. You're already starting to hear that catch line here in the Land of the Fee.

Coming soon to a Legislature near you....

That's certainly not an endearing legacy for Sony Bono.
I sure hope no one passes a bad law with my name on it.
QFFT. I'd hate to see the memorial Ana Mardoll Kick Puppies Act. 'Course, I'd be too dead to see it, but you know what I mean.

No, it did need fixing. Their public rhetoric may differ a bit, but both parties profit from, and are friends of, big business.

It's already life+100 in Mexico, so the EU and US will just be unifying term lengths with the very important Mexican market.

With all the Sturm und Drang that is ( rightly) raised on this website about unduly long copyright terms, is there anyway we could organize some sort of campaign about this ? Or is there an ongoing campaign somewhere about this?
