Scale it up to 12 inches by 12 inches, include an MP3 player, and have it display album art at full scale. It'll be just like my old LP days!

Hello!
Something new in terms of future release date of an A4-size ereader?
frm Bridgestone, Epson, or others maybe etc...? I see a lot of prototypes but nobody wants to sell one?

If not, I may buy a 10 inch PC tablet with zoom function, but an A4-size ereader would be soooo perfect !

It would be way too big to carry around. A very restricted market, I suspect.

It's not because you can't take a thing with you in the subway that nobody will buy it...

The advantage is not here: Reading newspapers, comics (and of course academic papers but only this is for a restricted audience).

so, is there some release date (or even very vague project of release) for one of this type of device ?
I registered for the newsletter of the noteslate too but without release date apparently (http://www.noteslate.com/ )

the noteslate is a work of FICTION by an art student playing with rendering software. It was never a real product.

I was really looking forward to it. A low tech, affordable tablet for taking notes. You don't need anything fancy (I am cool with the one bit display), and that's something that many companies don't always agree with. They'd rather sell a $400 tablet, than a $100 one, even if the profit margins are better on the $100 one.

The boogie board is neat, but useless for my needs. I need to be able to store and retrieve my notes. If it could do that, I'd be on board.

thats coming. they already have prototypes that remember what you scribble. but because of the nature of the display(its actually just one big pressure sensitive pixel) you wont be able to return what you wrote to the display once erased but the "pages" you save could be exported off

Yeah, I've heard about those prototypes, which solves part of my problem, but not all of it.

See the thing is, I would use it for notes in class, or at work meetings. When you're taking multiple pages worth of notes, there are times you'll want to refer back to what you've written. If you're in a lecture setting, where you have a QA session after writing notes, not being able to pull it back up would suck.

yeah its an unfortunate limitation of the tech in use. in order to be able to write to the display it would have to be a "regular" active matrix ch-lcd panel. now it would be costing more like a tablet and all of the hurdles that then brings
