Importing books
I have all my books in calibre and in the original folder. How can I import books from that original folder that I have since added (yep cant remember what the folder was). How can I get calibre to recognize the books already imported and just import the new ones. As I edited the metadata in a lot of them on calibre. Everything i have tried just seems to import all of the books again. Regards |

Try turning automerge on in the add books options. If the metadata Calibre gets (either from file name or file content) matches the entry already present in Calibre's library, it should then try to merge the format into the existing entry and discard it, should it already be present. At least, that's my understanding, I've never actually used it.

It won't have any effect unless the author matches the existing book exactly and the title is very similar (capitalization, indefinite articles and punctuation are all ignored, everything else must match). The author/title are taken from either the filename or the internal metadata according to the other option on that same page that controls where Calibre gets metadata for a new book..

The conversion factor from the time dimension to space is ct. When stationary in space, we must move into the future at c to have our clock tick off t. When moving in space, the spacetime vector c tilts from pure motion in time. The faster we move in the space dimension, the slower we move in the time dimension. |
