All sensible advice, especially the last one.

Put a few bags of kitty litter or sand in the trunk.
Dust off the paper books just in case.

Chili's on, Kindle's charged, and I just loaded up on AAA batteries for the Mighty Bright light, so we're good to go here, even if the power goes out.

They're saying 3" of ice is expected here. Not a blizzard, but for a place (TX) that shuts down for a little sprinkling of snow, that's like lol

I'm looking forward to a cozy couple of days snuggled up reading by the fireplace, but I pity all the poor critters outside and the humans who have to get out in it.

We have sleet, and an expected 1-6 inches of snow where I am. And my daughter got away with my Kindle over the weekend. We forgot it was in her purse whikle she was at the doctor's office. She already had my 300, since I gave it to her when I for my K3. I'll still have to go in to work tomorow, too. Pooh.

Gas: will keep flowing, so heating should be okay, at least in one room of the house.
Candles: got them, plenty.
Gas burner: see heating
Food: no problem. Considering you're considering a blizzard, I presume those are cold? If the power cuts off, simply dump the content of your freezer outside.
Water: no problem, usually blizzards bring snow (would it be a blizzard otherwise?)
Books: no problem. If my readers are out of juice, I still have those nice paper readers.

I'll survive

unless you have spent a great deal of time melting snow for toilet flushing, you don't get it. for drinking, not too bad, flushing... OMG! now the really fun part is doing it for the ski school lodge!

Remember, we will still have a stove that works. Gas is all under ground and unless a farmer is plowing way too deep, save from anything nature throws at it.

This sounds and awful lot like what they tell us to do for hurricanes. Hmmm...

All good advice.

Also, if you require medications(prescription type) make sure you have them.
