Create a valid EPUB file from PRC?

Is it possible to create a valid epub file directly from a prc?
And if so, with what tool?

I tried converting the prc to epub using calibre, but that produced a file that did not pass epubcheck.

Thanks! Lisa

You just added some more to your original problem.
My book is broke.
What's wrong?

If you want a solution: POST THE ERROR MESSAGE
and summarize what you have tried already.

Do NOT post copyrighted material a here (name the title if you think it will help)

Sorry for the rant, but I see these all the time here.
Read (other topics to see if it has been discusses AND solved).. Think Post

The usual reason to worry about epubcheck not passing is that this is required if you are an author/publisher and want upload to some ebook stores. However, a publisher who only has an PRC version is in a very bad place.

As theducks says, the problems are more likely than not to be inherited from the PRC file. However, I would not worry about this unless the ePub fails on an actual device. Actual ePub readers are more lenient than epubcheck.
