I like the Asus Slider idea. i was looking at videos online about it the other night. A physical keyboard that slides out from the device would sure be a nice feature. At that point, I wouldn't need a laptop.

I appreciate the info provided. But what percentage of upcoming products spoken about at CES actually hit market?

The problem with Android tablets is that they're a year behind the curve. What will they do when the iPad 2 ups the ante in April?

Of course it's happened before; it's happening now to my Kno tablet that was supposed to ship on Dec. 20th, then got pushed back to Jan 12th and now they say they'll deliver on Jan 31st. CES was Jan 6-9th; this was posted on the 10th. He even got Kno's availability on point. On Jan 10th you could Kno longer order them but could request an invitation due to low inventory. How much more current would you like it? Daily, perhaps?

My thoughts are if something meets your needs, it is available NOW and is reasonably priced based upon what else there is and you can afford it, go for it. If you hold out until when the next product is anticipated to become available you want, guess what? You will be right back in the loop of watching something else announced that trumps it and you'll want that one instead.
Whether it be golf equipment, smartphones, video displays, blu ray players etc. etc. the next best thing only goes so far anyway! ![]() Thanks Dopedangel for giving me a feel for what manufacturers one can generally trust with products coming to market versus others.
