So 6 months down the road, I go to look at the filename and who wrote it?

I know this may be a bit of a pain to do, but since I cannot do it, it won't be a pain for me. I'll jjust sit back and read the forum or convert a book or actually *GASP!* read a book.

What I am suggesting is the forum mods take all the books here and download them, fix the filenames and reattach them once fixed to the new format we've decided on. Sounds good to me. Now if you do want my help, you'll have to give me the access to do so. But don't worry, I can do other stuff while you guys do it.

We're certainly not going to impose any "standards" on filenames - in the vast majority of cases the title alone is more than sufficient. The reason we do impose a standard on thread titles is because of the automatic indexing.

If someone's not happy about a specific filename they can moan at the uploader and try to persuade them to change it, but we're certainly not going to impose any sort of "naming convention" on filenames!
