I know it's been several months since I was debating booklights, but just wanted to throw in my $0.02 after using the eLuminator Touch for a few months

1. I really like the touch portion. I was a little worried at first that it would accidentally get turned on in my bag and drain the batteries, but no worries. The touch is only activated when touching it with bare skin (i tested this out with very thin gloves - the ones I used in marching band). The absence of a switch is, to me, a plus. The more streamlined, the better.

2. I've since switched from my original mCover to the m-edge Latitude Jacket. The light worked very well with the mCover (I could just slip it between the kindle and the cover, but having a dedicated pocket on the m-edge cover is very handy.

3. Some people have complained about the fact that this light shuts off after an hour. This is slightly misleading - it shuts off after an hour of inactivity. I read a lot in bed, and have been known to fall asleep reading. I love that it turns off after an hour so I don't have to worry about draining the battery while I sleep. I do tend to read for hours at a time, but this isn't a big deal. When the hour is up, the light will flash on/off several times. All you need to do is touch the touch area once and the light will stay on for another hour. The hour is also reset each time you change the brightness. So say you read for 30 min at brightness setting #1. You realize it's getting darker and bump it up to brightness setting #2. It will shut off one hour after switching to setting #2.

3. One thing that I think could be better is the gooseneck flexibility. Yeah it's great that it stays in place, but mine seems to be a little too stiff to stay in the position I need it. Now that I'm using the m-edge cover with the light, the light is now directly behind the kindle, instead of off to the side, like with the m-cover. My reading angle is just weird enough that the bottom of the page doesn't get as much illumination as I'd like now that I have the m-edge cover as well. The gooseneck DOES stay in the positions that it "likes" and seems pretty sturdy.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the e-Luminator Touch. The paperclip back makes it easy to use on paperbacks as well - an added bonus

Hope my thoughts are helpful to anyone out there still questing for that perfect light!

Ordered the Kandle 2 light. I'll have a review when it arrives (using it on latest non-touch Kindle)

It will also be interesting to see what lights work on the K4. Amazon recommends the Verso Clip Light but shows no pics where it's suppose to be attached.

Kandle 2 light arrived. Here's my quick review with pics.

The design is nice. Feels sturdy yet it's relatively light. The arm to shine light is adjustable so you can angle it for better brightness.

There are 2 brightness settings, although I find the lower setting is enough light to read in the dark. I was used to a smaller clip on light with only 1 LED -- the Kandle 2 has three LED lights, so even on the lower setting it's enough light to read in the dark.

Clipping onto the new Kindle it is secure, doesn't move around unless you jar it. The only issue is the clip size and the bezel of the new Kindle being very narrow. I can't clip the Kandle 2 all the way down since it would cover a large portion of the top of the screen. See picture below for example.

All in all this does what it's supposed to -- provides lots of light for reading in dark rooms. The pictures I took were in a dark room (excuse the focus issue, camera couldn't focus well in the dark)

This is the lower brightness setting:

This is the higher brightness setting

Used the Kandle II last night in bed. Provides good light coverage, makes the device a tad heavier, but the K4 is so light to begin with it's not a huge issue. The only issue is the clipping mechanism with the small bezel like I pointed out above. You can't move the Kindle around too quickly as the clip is not all on the way on due to bezel smallness, but other than that this light is a keeper. Will be interesting to see how it fits once I put the K4 into the leather cover.

The thickness would make attaching a light easier

I think the Kandle is way too big.

I just got the octovo, and apart from the fantastic design, it is also a pretty good light for the K4, and fits perfectly on the K4 frame. I was thinking of getting a lighted cover, but I think I won't. The octovo also uses an AA battery, which means I can use my rechargeable one.

I wish I could ppost some picks, but my camera is broken. Here an amazon link :

Just to follow up, I posted in the Kindle 4 cover thread, but this small issue is now resolved. The Kandle attaches to the Kindle with cover much more securely now.

Yes it is big, however that's due to the fact it has 3 LEDs which gives way better light coverage over the entire screen as opposed to the small 1 LED lights that are lighter. I'm happy with my purchase, I can now read in bed without having to have the lamp turned on so my wife can sleep.

I've got this Mighty Bright power adapter which plugs into my book light. The cord right at the plug which plugs into the light (not the wall outlet) has broken wires now and they've made the damn thing so it can't be fixed.

Anyone know here these plugs can be bought. I tried radio shack in town and they didn't have anything like it. It's hard to google for since I don't even know what it's officially called.

Johnny,
Im not sure I undertand you right, but is your mighty bright power adapter broken?
I believe you can easily replace it with a new one.
Amazon sells them for under $10.

Case for KT that can carry the light?

Thanks for the review bornmusician. I've just got my KT and am looking for a case/cover and light to go with it. I'm vegan so don't want a leather product. The m-edge Latitude case and eLuminator Touch light sounds like a good combination, but will the case to able to store the light when I'm travelling? I'd really like a case that I can stash the light inside to protect it when away from home. If the m-edge case/eLuminator light combo wouldn't work, can anyone suggest another (vegan) option please? I'd be happy to pay more & like the look of the covers with built in lights, but they all seem to be leather...

Many thanks,
Rodders
