Can EPUB from Ibooks be read on the Sony?

I've searched and searched. Sorry if this has been asked before. I have a friend who saw a book on the Ibooks app that she wants for her Sony. Would it work? I know you can go the otherway but no idea about buying in Ibooks and transferring to the Sony.

Thanks

Is it DRMd and if so, can you authorise a Sony as a device from Ibooks? Check that and you'll have your answer...

If it has DRM, no.

I don't think you can go the otherway either (if the epub has DRM on the Sony).

I'm assuming your not stripping DRM going either way.

I think ePubs through iBooks uses a different DRM scheme that Sony Readers cannot read. You would have to remove the DRM before putting on your Sony.

What site are you referencing?
I've tried: ibooks.com ibooks.org ibooks.net ibooks.biz
They all seem to be placeholders.

Never mind.
I guess you're talking about Apple books.

It's not a web site, Ken. iBooks is Apple's bookstore, and it's only accessible from an iPhone or iPad. It uses Apple's DRM mechanism called "FairPlay". This has not been cracked, and hence such books can only be read on Apple devices.
