Yes, I'm talking market exchange rates (not official exchange rates), not buying-power equivalence rates.

I'm not sure there are any countries trying to stick with an official exchange rate any more.

1. The decimalisation issue - if you say much earlier it might have been shortly after the French Revolution; weren't the revolutionary French great decimalisers? But anybody daring to suggest such things in Britain at the time would certainly have been frowned off the island, wouldn't they?

4. Just for the heck of it: A million dollars?
