Carvings in stone hardly qualify as print.

Prayers is correct, Dharina prayers to be specific, but even though printing had long been established in China, extant material isn't that old. Can someone come up with a date?

The carvings might not qualify as print, but if you paint inside them, as is the case with many of them, could qualify as print

Sorry but print is the transference of text or image in large quantities by the use of an intermediate device.

That would probably be true for China, and who knows, maybe one day they will find some material from that era.

I suppose this might have been a tad esoteric.
The answer is mid to late 8th century, known as the Nara period in Japanese history. The prints are known as the Million Pagodas with Dharina Prayers. They were a gift from the empress Shotoku to all the newly established Buddhist temples. The volume of the prints suggest that metal casting was used. Paul was closest with them being prayers, take it away.

Stumped too.
To put it a little bit to pieces (maybe someone gets an idea from it): The first can be ONE or ARE The last sign might be a real question mark and no placeholder for a letter. After ten might follow a verb. Or this may all be totally wrong.
