I forgot to say, it was at the Vostok Station in Antarctica in 1983 and, for those of you that think in Fahrenheit, that's -128.6 F.

Actually, the lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth was probably in a lab in Munich recently. Slightly to the negative side of the Kelvin scale.

Ahhh, but I thought you had seen the 90 deg answer, hence it made sense going up in temperature rather than down.

OK... A Natural History question to start the week...
There is only one animal (no, not human,) that is known to attack a full grown healthy adult elephant. This same animal will attack a human without provocation. Name this creature. Stitchawl |

While a rabid dog might attack anything, including a tree or a car, I really was looking for an animal that didn't need to be sick to be crazy...
![]() This animal, even when healthy, will attack, with intent to kill, any other living creature regardless of size. It will do just just because it does not work or play well with others, rather then only for food as most other animals do. Stitchawl |

A gnat/mosquito/midge?
(Not sure if these are the right English words for these little pests, but I guess you get the idea.)

Lemmings?
At least I think that's how it's written. They are angry little who can get quite mad if you get in their way. If you leave them alone, however, they'll leave you alone

Oh. In German, insects are animals too! Very small ones indeed, but animals.
