Gnumeric Port (Spreadsheet Application)

I've been able to get Gnumeric working on my iLiad.

Quote:
The Gnumeric spreadsheet is part of the GNOME desktop environment...

The goal of Gnumeric is to be the best possible spreadsheet. We are not attempting to clone existing applications. However, Gnumeric can read files saved with other spreadsheets and we offer a customizable feel that attempts to minimize the costs of transition.
Screenshots attached.

The biggest problem with this port, is that it requires an updated version of Glib. I don't know why iRex chose to use one that was so old. I didn't have to replace any files on the root filesystem, but it's going to be a very large file to distribute. It does take quite a bit of time to start as well.

Let me know if you guys want it...I can upload a 37MB, (mostly) working version.

That would be really interesting for my studies! It might not be as good as working on a computer but having some spreadsheets with me would be very handy! Nice work!

Definitely - this, is great - with a basic word processor and spreadsheet, for me this turns a good book reader into an occasional UMPC, it'll make me carry the thing more now that I have this functionality - these ports really differentiate the iLiad - you're doing everyone a great service here AdamB !!

May I know if you've got any progress on this port? I am desperately needing a spreadsheet viewer on my iLiad. I wouldn't buy a iLiad without you!

Spreadsheet desired..

Hi Adam,

Thank you again, for this great software. Now that I have a 32 GB Flash card, I think that I can afford to have the 37 MB spreadsheet software installed. Would you be kind as to make a link for us to download this software or should I provide you with my email address?

Thanks a million by anticipation.

You can find it here: http://projects.mobileread.com/iliad...b/gnumeric.zip

I believe you should be able to unzip it to your CF card and run. It's been a while since I created it.
