2010 Nobel Prize in Literature

Went to Mario Vargas Llosa.

I have only read his Conversation in the Cathedral. Hugely impressive though pretty bleak.

I was hoping for McCarthy, whom I admire greatly, or Oates but there's always next year.

I think it was a well deserved prize. He is a great writer.

His works are well known in Europe, hope he gets more readers in this side of the pond now.

Do you mean Cormac McCarthy or Jenny McCarthy?

As a note related to ebooks, his literary agent, Carmen Balcells (who is also the agent of other great Spanish-speaking authors, such as Gabriel García Márquez), is in favour of electronic publishing, so we can hope to see the works of Vargas Llosa in this format some time...
