Also available free @ Kobo if you live in the right area, which apparently does not include Canada. Kindle version also unavailable to us, probably because Gabaldon's books seem to be split between Delacorte Press in the US and Doubleday Canada up here.

Depends on what the bonus content is supposed to be. What I got has an excerpt from Dragonfly in Amber, an interview with the author, and a reader's guide.

ah, so it does exist. I'm calling back and trying again. That's what is supposed to be there, but isn't. Also isn't in the copy that Kobo has, which is identical to the one I've had on Kindle for a couple of years.

Took two calls to customer service, but the new book is now mine!

The ASIN Update Tool is the super-secret tool that the customer service person must use in order to get you the new edition of a book. No deletion or re-ordering is required.

BTW, Kobo is still sending out the old version, even though their web page says they have the new one.

The bonus content is a preview (part of Chapter 6) of Dragonfly In Amber, the second book in the series and a short interview (from 1999; the novel was first published in 1991) with the author, Diana Gabaldon.

Note: I got my free version from Amazon, and the bonus material I listed above is what's in the Kindle version. The Sony store does not mention any bonus material at all and the Kobo store mentions the two items I listed above as well as "an Outlander reader's guide." I don't have the Sony or Kobo versions, so someone else is going to have to check this.
