Kindle DX RS232 Connector
based on informations about the serial console for DX, I wanted to have a smart way to connect to PC.
First I thought about using the headphone connector for RS232 because I don't need audio, but on the other hand you never can tell.
So I searched for a way to have a second connector, because there is less space I recyled a MP3 player connector (short neck!) and did some cutting and drilling (see attached files).
Now just waiting for the USB-RS232 TTL3.3V adapter to arrive ...
USB Adapter works fine
Serial Settings are: 115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no flow control

please be aware that the serial console connection gets killed in minutes
if the /mnt/us/DO_NOT_KILL_UART file doesn't exist
The above is true for the DXG unit running the 2.5.5 firmware...
Similar technique is used to generate an idle timeout in uBoot on kindle.
Don't know how to cure it -- too boring
